It has been used in all three modes of operation, both as a scoring tool and in live performances. Bluebox and Lemon Drop recently traveled with me to Europe for remote recording sessions. They easily dropped into my luggage without having to bring a separate case. Lemondrop’s granular sound is quite unique, allows for quick editing and found its way into every piece. During the sessions all instruments were recorded directly into separate channels of Bluebox. I’ve used Blackbox for several years creating some twisted sound design in scores, sampling in my Folktek instruments. It also gets used for creative playback of elements to process in my live performances. The metal case makes it great for travel, another addition to the luggage! Danny Carey The bitbox Micro is an integral component of my setup. The Micro is the corridor to my inspiration! Steve Roach The Blackbox has proven to be a vital game changer in my live concert system, within the studio and as a compositional tool for experimentation. I use 3 or 4 blackboxes set up with a vast range of 16 sources per box. I call these sources up spontaneously within the flow of the set and instantly access, manipulate and innovate entirely new soundworlds, grooves etc. Beyond the vast functionality and fantastic sound quality, the build, overall feel and tight operation of the BB instills nothing but confidence when the reliance on on such a device is paramount in the live setting. For me Nanobox Razzmatazz was first a portable 2FM+Sample Pink Drum Machine which I could sync to my AcidBass and it was fun. Then the new update came ! And totally changed the game adding MIDI channel / input fx / more accurate and more fun ! Plus Now I can send the output of my Microfreak into the nanobox and process it with FX and also map my new controller to different parameters of it and have more live simultaneous control over desired parameters!
